This V-belt drives the air conditioning compressor from the crankshaft pulley. A worn, cracked, or glazed belt will cause A/C failure and, in some configurations, affect power steering. Regular inspection and timely replacement keeps your climate control and ancillaries running reliably — especially important on long-range touring and off-road use where heat management is critical.

Replacement Interval

Inspect at every service. Replace every 50,000 km or sooner if cracking, glazing, fraying, or squealing is present. In harsh conditions (heat, dust, heavy towing), inspect more frequently.
