Fuel Filter Cap Assembly for the Prado & Hilux Surf (KZJ90, KZJ95, KZN185, 1996–2002).

The diesel priming pump/ filter housing is a critical part of the fuel system and is often the first cause of poor operation when it fails. The signs of a failed housing are subtle: poor ability to rev properly, and stalling out when coming off of acceleration. The pressed steel pump of the OE filter tends to dry out and allow air to suck in, which causes all sorts of drivability issues. 

To diagnose, pump the primer with the engine off until the primer pushrod gets firm. Keep pumping a few more strokes and observe for signs of wetness or sucking sounds. This confirms the issue. 

This includes the fuel filter priming pump and filter mount. Purchase with filter for a completed assembly.

THIS UNIT HAS A HEATER PORT. You will need to transfer your diesel fuel heater over off of your old unit.
